Anisa Arslanagic

I am a British-Bosnian violinist, violist and pianist based in Devon. My music studies in Prague, Switzerland, Holland and London followed on from my degree at Royal Northern College of Music. Classically trained with a love for performing and collaborating across many genres, I enjoy a diverse musical career.

With my own groups and others, I've performed on platforms such as Royal Albert Hall, Later With Jools Holland, The Graham Norton Show, Wigmore Hall, Shanghai International Arts Festival, Glastonbury Festival and Chernobyl’s Exclusion Zone.

My live, touring and recording highlights include playing with Bonobo, Paolo Nutini, Jack Savoretti, The Levellers, Fat White Family, Portico Quartet, Floating Points, Four Tet, Ghostpoet, Kae Tempest, Baxter Dury and Amanda Palmer. Recording studios I've worked at include Abbey Road, Maida Vale and YouTube Space (New York).

I've worked as a session musician on labels including Universal, Decca, Sony Music, PIAS, Colombia Records and Ninja Tune. My radio and televised performances include BBC 1, BBC 2, Radio 1 Live Lounge, BBC Radio 3, Channel 4 and Sky Arts. I also recorded strings on Mica Levi’s award-winning film soundtracks for ‘Under The Skin’ and ‘Jackie'.

An enthusiastic teacher, I have over 15 years of experience teaching privately and for schools across the UK, Ireland and Czech Republic.

I am extremely grateful to have received awards from Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, UK Mendelssohn Scholarship Foundation, Myra Hess Trust, Yfrah Neaman Award and Leverhulme Trust.

Music Makers Devon

This is a new project led by myself, providing music sessions aimed towards improving the mental and physical health of those in the North Devon area.

The project has a flexible and understanding approach, tailored towards specific needs and requests and open to anyone. Regular sessions are given at numerous care homes, hospitals, schools and community spaces.

There are plans in 2022 to offer a series of concerts in unconventional venues, with the aim of making high quality concerts easily accessible to all and connecting local communities through music.
